“Top Gun” is the perfect time capsule for 1986, the only year where you could make a successful “American romantic military action drama.” We remember amazing performances by Tom Cruise, Tom Skerritt, Tim Robbins, Val Kilmer, Anthony Edwards, Kelly McGillis, and Michael Ironside. We remember Kenny Loggins and Berlin propelling the soundtrack to 9 million copies sold. But many people forget this movie had flaws the size of a Tomcat. Find out if it stands the test of time, and learn way too much about our sex lives in the process.

Plot Summary: “Top GunThe Top Gun Naval Fighter Weapons School is where the best of the best train to refine their elite flying skills. When hotshot fighter pilot Maverick (Tom Cruise) is sent to the school, his reckless attitude and cocky demeanor put him at odds with the other pilots, especially the cool and collected Iceman (Val Kilmer). But Maverick isn’t only competing to be the top fighter pilot, he’s also fighting for the attention of his beautiful flight instructor, Charlotte Blackwood (Kelly McGillis).
