Aliens (1986)

Aliens Quote: “Maybe we can build a fire, sing a couple of songs!” – Carter Burke

“Aliens” How did James Cameron make a move this good in 1986? Like, seriously, it’s impossibly good. Sigourney Weaver is the perfect warrior woman when such a thing didn’t exist in film. The story makes sense. The space Marines are badass. Even Bill Paxton’s overacting is endearing. On the eve of “Alien: Covenant,” let’s bow at the altar of the greatest Installment of the Alien franchise. Continue reading Aliens (1986)

Twister (1996)

Twister Quote: “The Suck Zone. It’s the point basically when the twister… sucks you up. That’s not the technical term for it, obviously.” – Dustin Davis

If you were thrilled by this movie years ago or have warm feelings for the late Bill Paxton, let us teach you to hate everything about this movie … with good cause. Continue reading Twister (1996)

From historical accuracy to production quality, let’s cock the hammer on this 90’s western and explore some hot topics, including: how many shells and double-barreled shotgun holds, when it’s permissible to seek a new wife, how long after an assassination attempt you must wait to play billiards, and the difference between Doc Holliday and Doc Hollywood. Continue reading Tombstone (1993)
