The Seventh Sign (1988)

The Seventh Sign Quote: “Will you die for him?” – Cartaphilus

Shat The Movies super-supporter Emmett is back with a rare genre of film: apocalyptic religious horror pregnancy porn. “The Seventh Sign” features a young Demi Moore playing the most active mom-to-be in cinematic history, Jurgen Prochnow from “Das Boot” playing (spoiler alert) Jesus, and Michael Biehn from “The Terminator,” “Aliens,” and “Tombstone” once again refused the hero’s role.

Big D takes a crash course in Biblical interpretation. Gene begs for a remake. And Ash cringes at the Hall of Souls. Along the way, we also discuss hot fish, why movie doctors don’t try very hard, how easy it is to infiltrate an execution, renting rooms to strangers, and how tough the Seven Seals of God should be.

Plot Summary: “The Seventh Sign” Prior to his death on the crucifix, Jesus Christ (Jürgen Prochnow) was offered a drink of water, a kind act turned away by a Roman soldier. These events play a profound role in occurrences during modern times, which some construe as signs of Christ’s return and the apocalypse. While Abby Quinn (Demi Moore) believes the end is coming and that her unborn child may be in danger as a result, Father Lucci (Peter Friedman), a Vatican agent, is doubtful no matter what evidence she presents.
